Well, this wasn't supposed to be a post - just a thought...
I love taking pictures - it's so easy to capture nature; she just 'sits there', and we walk up - no one moves except the wind.
I wish I had the type of camera that could give a real close-up shot of the beautiful tiny flowers on this bush; the best I can do is grab the various depths of color.
Color - it makes me think of my friends who have a variety of skin colors; all so beautiful - all so natural - all the way they were born, and supposed to be. I am very glad I'm 'color-blind' when it comes to a person's skin; blind to most of the negatives about an individual, but sometimes I'm deaf, dumb, and blind to situations that cause difficulty for others in this world.
As I read about Billy Tipton and thought of the
life-long 'masquerade', I knew one of the songs I'd select for this play-list,
would be that song title: MASQUERADE.
Then I received some interesting
e-mails from friends who reminded me how really naive I was about the gay
community - those that live a different kind of life than I
do.As I learn more about some of their
struggles; having already researched most of the difficulties of the black
person and the Native-American to which I came to know as a child when near-by
friends lived on a small reservation, I'll add to this entry. Until then, I'll
just look at this beautiful work of nature, and remember that we are all
glorious works of nature - and no changes should be made to something so
divinely designed.Updating: I'm learning, but I think it better for anyone who wants to become better educated about the gay community, read this link - in the words of those who are part of this and deal with the day-to-day choices they've made, and the courage they've had to be open about their life-style.
